VERZBICAS WINS Becomes the first Sophomore to Win Foot Locker, running 15:07 Martin Grady earns All-American status by finishing 13th

Grady qualifies in 6th place
Sandburg's Lukas Verzbicas (left- photo Pat Davey) wins the Midwest Region of Foot Locker by seven seconds to qualify for the national meet. Fenwicks Martin Grady (right) finishes sixth to qualify for the trip to San Diego as well.

Jack Driggs & Andrew Smith (above) lead Kroy (York) to its 6th straight qualification to Nike Cross Nationals. Neuqua Valley finished in 2nd, while Loyola was 3rd and will look for an at large bid. Palatine girls qualify after a chip error reveals that a Missouri team was wearing the wrong chips.

- Lavinia Jurkiewicz of Whitney Young and Lukas Verzbicas of Sandburg both win their first state title in the Class AAA races.
- MW #3 Neuqua Valley (above) upsets US #1 Loyola Academy and MW #2 York to win their second state title in three years
- Paul Zeman leads Belvidere North to the Class AA Boys state title
- Woodstock's Kayla Beattie wins the Class AA girls race, with sister Elise finishing 3rd. Margo Richardson finishes 2nd. Springfield wins the team title.
- Newman Central Catholic wins the Class A Boys state title by one point. Contriversial DQ opens the door for the win.
- Kelly Curran of Bloomington Central Catholic upsets the class A field to win the first championship of the day.
